Alois Fix House
1403 Kilbourn Avenue (at Holton)
Tomah, Wisconsin 54660-2635

Percey Bentley, 1912

Fix was impressed by Bentley’s 1910 Bartl House in La Crosse, and commissioned his own Bentley residence in 1912. The forms of the two houses are similar, but the Fix House has a brick porch and corner piers where the Bartl house has wood. A garage has been added at the rear.

Claude & Starck’s 1916 Tomah Public Library is one block west and six blocks north.
